TABLE OLIVES

Olive trees are well known since ancient times and they probably come from the Eastern Mediterranean area. 

 

Greeks were the first to cultivate olive trees in the European Mediterranean area. All varieties of olive trees can be grown in Greece and they produce the tastiest olives. Olives have a natural bitter taste whether unripe or ripe. .

In our area olive trees mainly produce the varieties of Kalamata and Amfissa

 Kalamata:

Kalamata table olives can been found mainly in the borders of the Greek province and form one of the most significant varieties of table olives. When picked before reaching maturity they are called “blonde Kalamata olives” and after reaching maturity “black Kalamata olives”.

Their impressive colour, distinctive shape and delicious taste constantly increase the demand for Kalamata table olives in Greece and worldwide.
